The Accounting & Reporting Advisory (ARA) group is a dedicated team of IFRS, US GAAP and LUX GAAP experts that seek to use the accounting standards constructively and positively to help clients achieve their desired objectives – be it providing expert input and challenge to transactions or providing the assurance that their IFRS or GAAP reporting will stand up to scrutiny.
ARA is a client-facing group that is accustomed to being the expert in the room. ARA is also in charge of dealing with accounting consultations received from the audit teams of Deloitte. The ARA team members are experts in the accounting standards and their practical application to address the challenges faced by clients in different industries.
Your next challenge
- Challenging and advising clients on the implementation and application of new accounting standards and accounting for new products and structured transactions
- Assist, as the lead subject matter expert, the audit teams on accounting for structured transactions and complex accounting judgements
- Assisting with consolidation accounting challenges
- Providing seamless joined up expert input alongside other Deloitte teams such as tax, risk, and regulatory experts
- Providing transaction accounting support to audit teams and assurance clients
- Performing accounting policy and financial statements reviews
Your skills
- You must have three years (at least) experience of working within the IFRS accounting team of a professional services firm or IFRS accounting policy department of a company (ideally active in the financial industry) or delivering large listed IFRS audits
- within the financial industry. Having experience with consolidated financial statements is an advantage;
- You must have ability to work on accounting input for complex IFRS accounting issues. Having such ability under LUX GAAP or US GAAP is an advantage;
- We value good knowledge of Microsoft Office and analytics tools as well as relevant experience with accounting system such as understanding main functionalities, accounting reports, data structuring, etc.
- You must be fluent in English and in French. Having good command of German or Luxembourgish is an advantage.
- Having a practical understanding of businesses within the financial industry is an advantage;
- You must have professional accounting qualification such as ACA, ACCA, DSCG, DEC, Chartered Accountant, CPA or similar qualifications or be in the process of acquiring one.
