HR Business Partner – Associate Director

The purpose of this position is to work with the business in a partnership capacity to develop the people agenda; translating business iniatives and goals into robust strategic people plans that support and deliver business strategy.  The individual will be responsible for developing and managing relationships with senior people leaders, key employee representatives and local regulatory bodies to maintain compliance.

Key responsibilities:

HR Strategic Planning

  • Act as a consultant to leaders on HR related issues, developing new and innovative ways to engage employees and identify effective HR strategies to drive change in people management practices
  • Support leaders in executing business plans to deliver tangible commercial benefits by helping build organisational & people capabilities as well as identifying solutions to increase efficiency and reduce costs
  • Understand the talent needs of the business and people capability to develop the next generation of managers and leaders through longer term resource planning
  • Work with the leadership team and the Aztec Academy to determine workforce needs, identify human resource and competency gaps, and devise a development and workforce plan to facilitate staff engagement and retention
  • Understand the Group’s goals and culture to be able to develop and shape HR stratergies that meet the needs of the business and its long term plans
  • Act as a primary point of contact for designated business units in response to employee and/or team requests, as well as being well versed in global HR policies, and provide regular updates to the business
  • Ensure employees are working in a harmonised manner with consistency in application of policy throughout all offices. Identify and implement mechanisms to ensure cooperation, communication and teamwork

Employee Relations

  • Track trends in employee behaviours, supporting strategies to promote positive organisational culture
  • Lead employee relation matters with professional grace; acting as an escalation for investigations to resolve workplace issues/conflict in close collaboration with other members of the HR team
  • Act as an ambassador and champion for Aztec’s Standards for Professional Code of Conduct. Supporting leaders and managers in determining appropriate HR process to resolve issues, whilst acting as an impartial mediator in procedures and ensure they are administered in a fair manner and in line with legal requirements

Recruitment

  • Understand the resourcing needs of the business and partner with the recruitment team to evolve attraction and resourcing strategies.
  • Work with the business to ensure that hiring is in line with commercials.
  • Evolve and develop the recruitment, onboarding and secondment processes, measurements and documentation for efficiency, accuracy and consistency
  • Act as an authorised signatory where required

HR Administration and Compliance

  • Lead HR projects and co-lead implementation for HR operating policies and procedures across the Group
  • Provide oversight and evolve the HR administration processes to ensure all documentation is maintained for compliance with legislation and government reporting requirements, minimising legal exposure
  • When required liaise with legal counsel on HR issues that require legal interpretations
  • Represent Aztec in HR consortiums, forums and legal seminars

Performance Management

  • Implement retention and talent management strategies to identify talent issues before they affect the business
  • Lead the Group performance management cycle, including creating plans to manage annual reviews, utilise budget to organise development activities and work one-on-one with managers and employees

HR Communication and Reporting

  • Understand the business to devise, implement, analyse and use HR analytics to support business strategy and report on issues that executives may not be aware of
  • Provide regular updates to the business on HR metrics, to ensure they are kept appraised of HR matters
  • Create internal staff communications, team-building to engage the team and wider business

Skills, knowledge, expertise:

  • Excellent stakeholder management experience
  • Evidence of advising and engaging senior leaders, along with demonstable experience of effectively partnering with a business, embedding new initiatives and supporting employee groups of 500+ in multiple locations
  • Demonstrated ability to identify, recommend and implement best practice approaches that deliver rapid, consistent, high-quality HR management and service provision
  • Strong collaborator with effective interpersonal and analytical skills who is able to work seamlessly and independently across countries, cultures, and organisational units required
  • Demonstrated ability to work, manage, and meet competing deadlines in a fast-paced, high volume environment and on deadline; aptitude for problem solving and decision making needed
  • Superb written and verbal communication skills required
  • Capable of managing conflict and conflicting views as well as challenging the business using evidence, strong relationships and an understanding of the business to influence effectively
  • Experience in presenting to different audiences verbally, in writing and in presentation formats; able to deliver compelling and clear strategies and recommendations
  • Proven experience in direct human resources work with a relevant professional qualification
  • Ability to identify key quick wins to build credibility as well as long – term positive impact
  • Strong IT skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and SharePoint and/or other intranet software

General information:
Travel to other jurisdictional offices will be required.
