Overview of the EU Sustainable Finance Disclosure Regulation (SFDR)

In view of the EU Sustainable Finance Disclosure Regulation (“SFDR”), the ESG Club of the LPEA will host a webinar to support our members on the last steps needed to comply with the new regulation coming into force on March 10th 2021. One of the aspects coming before the due date is the review and approval by the CSSF on the proposed SFDR changes through its fast track procedure. All AIF offering documents must be filed for visa, together with the confirmation letter, by 28 February 2021 at the latest. This and other subjects will be on core of the discussion to help you prepare for the new regulation.

Cristina Dos Santos 
Cristina joined the CSSF’s department of “Authorisation and Supervision of Alternative Investment Funds” in 2018 as an analyst.

Guy Morlak 
Guy joined the CSSF in 1997 and is the head of the division in charge of processing amendments received in relation to alternative investment funds.

Aissata Coulibaly

Aïssata joined EY Luxembourg in 2007 and has Partner in charge role within EY’s 300 professional strong Private Equity practice for audit, advisory, valuation, transaction and tax services in Luxembourg. Certified Public Accountant and IFRS accredited, Aïssata is focused on Private Equity assignments and has Executive’s responsibilities on the audit of Luxembourg-based PE/VC structures (SICARs, SIFs, SOPARFIs, SCSp) whose general partners including family offices or investment managers are located in Africa, Europe or the United States.

She assumes responsibilities on the audit of Luxembourg-based PE/VC structures including portfolio companies operating across various industries and geographies. Her main client focus is made on  PE / VC clients for which Aïssata strongly supports the growth through dedicated events and trainings.

Aïssata is a fellow of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants and a member of the Luxembourg Institut des Réviseurs d’Entreprises where she represents EY Luxembourg in the Quality Control Commission.

Aïssata is leading the LPEA ESG club as Co-chair and is member of the Executive Committee of the Luxembourg for Africa Association where she is in charge of all PE related questions. Aïssata is also member of the Board of Regent of the Luxembourg Sacred Heart University and is a regular speaker at flagship events and has authored several articles in local major publications.

Silke Bernard

Silke is a Partner in the Luxembourg Investment Funds Group and is currently (co-) heading the practice.

Silke specialises in alternative investment funds, being the key contact for some of the largest global fund sponsors in private markets.

Her practice covers the full range of investment funds including retail and professional funds, with special expertise in alternative investment funds such as private equity, real estate, private credit and other alternative asset funds and investment management arrangements. Silke has been the counsel for several ground-breaking deals for some of the largest asset managers. Her practice includes the structuring, establishment and regulation of funds and asset management businesses, including the setting-up of co-investment structures, tailored managed accounts e.g. for sovereign investors and regulatory work (e.g. licensing and passporting procedures) in the asset management sphere. Silke covers all types of diversified, regulated, unregulated and tailored investment structures including beyond a typical fund set-up.

Besides her alternatives business Silke further has deep knowledge of retail investor funds (UCITS and UCIs) and is the legal counsel to a number of flagship funds distributed by some of the biggest asset managers around the world.

Silke is heavily involved in the activities of the fund industry organisations in Luxembourg. She is chairing several working groups of the Luxembourg fund industry association ALFI and of the Luxembourg Private Equity Association LPEA. She is leading Luxembourg’s industry efforts on European Long-Term Investment Funds (ELTIFs) and currently on the Pan-European Personal Pensions Product PEPP. Her industry involvement further covers various other fields such as e.g. infrastructure, private equity or private debt. She is a committee member of the European asset management association EFAMA in Brussels and is a regular speaker at various national and international conferences and industry roadshows.

Aurélien Roelens

Aurélien Roelens joined Cube IM in 2010, primarily focused on the communication and energy sectors.

Aurélien contributed to the acquisition and/or investment management of several energy companies involved in district heating, WtE, wind and other renewable energies. Starting with the acquisition of Covage in 2011, he has been actively involved in the origination, acquisition and strong development of several telecom companies as well as in the launch of the Connecting Europe Broadband Fund. Since 2018, Aurélien is mostly focused on the development of Cube II’s communication platform, notably leading the recent acquisitions and asset management of dst telecomunicaçoes and G.Network.

Since 2010, Aurélien is also Cube IM’s ESG Coordinator spearheading ESG developments across the funds. He is also a member of Cube IM’s ESG Committee, GRESB Infrastructure Benchmark Committee (EMEA) and represents the LPEA on sustainable finance to Haut Comité de la Place Financière.

Aurélien began his career in finance in 2008 in London, before joining Oddo in 2009, working on the execution of several French M&A and ECM transactions. Prior to that, he gained some experience working with public counterparts on environmental topics. In his spare time, he is a visiting professor at HEC Paris and heads a microfinance operation in Togo.

Aurélien, CAIA®, graduated with highest honors from the Ecole des Mines (MSc in Civil Engineering) and from HEC Paris (MSc in International Finance and Energy & Finance certificate), with additional training in Management (EM Lyon MSc), in Economics and in Laws.

A French citizen, he is fluent in English and has a basic command of German and Spanish.
