13.12.2018 – Luxembourg-Poland Business Conference: Fintech/REgtech call for Start-ups

Luxembourg-Poland Chamber of Commerce, in close collaboration with the Embassy of the Republic of Poland in Luxembourg, the Embassy of Luxembourg in Poland and the Luxembourg House of Financial Technology, is organizing the Luxembourg-Poland Business Conference and a competition dedicated to Polish FinTech & RegTech start-ups, scheduled for 13 December 2018.

 

The purpose of the conference and the competition within it is among others to present the best Polish FinTech & RegTech start-ups to representatives of foreign investment funds, private investors and business angels.

This event will also offer an opportunity to discuss future development of such business branches as finance and new technologies.

«Polish start-ups, which managed to become known abroad, are very often appreciated for their innovative character, ambition and diligence of their owners, the best examples being Booksy or Growbots, which are huge international success.

We want Polish companies to be widely spoken about, hence the idea to organize this conference and competition. Participation in it gives them a great chance to introduce themselves to the panel of outstanding experts from Poland and Luxembourg and to establish valuable business contacts, which may result in winning an interesting investor or partner» – says Artur Sosna, President of Luxembourg-Poland Chamber of Commerce.

 Following the September 2018 competition targeting the best FinTech & RegTech solutions, LPCC together with “Luxembourg House of Financial Technology” (LHoFT) selected 12 best Polish start-ups from around 100 applications.

About the conference

This event will be divided into two parts.

The first part in the morning will be devoted to the meetings with experts of such institutions as Luxembourg House of Financial Technology, Luxembourg Ministry of the Economy and LuxInnovation, and will encompass the areas of FinTech and RegTech, and the possibilities emerging from the business collaboration between Poland and Luxembourg.

Shortly after the meetings 12 best start-up’s from Poland chosen from around 100 candidates will pitch their start-up’s ideas in front of investors, VC’s, Business Angels, bankers.

The best three of them will be promoted both at the evening conference and in the mass media – press, radio and TV – of both countries.

The second part will be the evening conference starting at 6.00 p.m. at the Chamber of Commerce in the City of Luxembourg.

The conference will be opened by Ministries of both countries, ambassadors from Poland and Luxembourg as well as the Director of the Chamber of Commerce of Luxembourg.

An Inspiring Speaker will introduce into the topic of FInTech and RegTech, which will be after woods discussed in two panel discussions between experts from both countries.

Around 15 high-level guest, known on both markets by their expertise in FinTech & RegTech, will exchange their ideas and views on those topics.

The conference will be closed by a cocktail event with Polish piano music.
