The Luxembourg PE/VC stories with Gilles Mougenot (Argos Wityu Partners)

Gilles Mougenot is a leading player in French private equity since 1984, when he established the Mergers and Acquisition Department at the French National Agency for the Creation of Companies (ANCE).

In 1985 he participated in the founding and development of Initiative et Finance, a leading French private equity firm focused on SME. As founder of the Argos Soditic Group in 1990, he led or participated in more than twenty management buy-outs. Investments which he has led include Du Pareil au Même, Eau Ecarlate, Saime, Roc Eclerc, Alkan and more recently Natural Distribution.

Argos Soditic is a leading independent European private equity group focussed on the smaller mid-market for management buy-outs and buy-ins. In general we take majority stakes with equity investments of between €10 to €60 million. In all of our deals we look for experienced, entrepreneurial and innovative management either already in place or brought in to strengthen existing teams.

Argos Soditic operates in all business sectors and looks for opportunities for change targeting growth and efficiencies. Working with independent family-owned SME’s as well as subsidiaries of large international groups, Argos Soditic focuses on market position and the capacity to lead or become a leader in the company’s business niche. The management team is fully supported during the execution of its strategic plan.
