Membership

Members of the LPEA comprise but are not restricted to investors, fund managers, services providing ancillary activities to private equity and individuals with a particular interest or commitment in the asset class.

Being a member of LPEA provides you with access to the resources and network you need to maximise your opportunities in the PE world in Luxembourg, the city which is by many considered the hub of the asset class in Europe.

LPEA is committed to “Matching talent and money”, via networking events, training programmes, technical workshops and international initiatives that cater to the needs of its different categories of members.

The LPEA’s priorities are to preserve and develop:

1. Efficient business conditions

Reinforce Luxembourg as the location of choice for Private Capital investors, from the EU and beyond, who can rely on LPEA to help protect and promote their interests.

2. Relevant networking

Provide local and international Private Capital investors with a platform to connect, learn from each other and stay abreast of the latest trends, transaction opportunities and regulations.

Application Process

After you submit your application through the form on our website, it will be reviewed by the LPEA Office and will then be approved by association’s Executive Committee which will in turn inform the Board. All applicants are required to provide two references from existing firm members of LPEA.

TYPES OF MEMBERSHIP

Starting in 2026 and through 2028, our membership fees will be updated, and we will introduce new special categories within the Full and Associate membership types. The new categories are as follows:

  • Full Member – VC & SFO

  • Associate Member – Small Firm – Refers to firms with up to 20 employees (3)

  • Associate Member – Micro Firm – Refers to firms with up to 5 employees (3)

FULL MEMBER

Investors and GPs

This category includes any type of management company (General Partner) of a private equity, venture capital, debt or infrastructure fund. It is also open to organizations that directly invest in private capital funds (Limited Partners) or invest in the asset class through intermediaries like Fund of Funds. This includes, but is not limited to, pension funds, insurance companies, sovereign wealth funds, family offices, endowments and corporate investors.

ASSOCIATE MEMBER

Advisers/ Service Providers​

Applies to organizations that provide ancillary services to the private equity and venture capital industry or who represent special interest groups that can influence the development of private equity and venture capital. Organisations eligible to become associate members include – without limitation – fund administrators, auditors, lawyers, accountants, tax advisers, banks, development organizations and associations etc.

Individuals

Physical persons who, due to their professional objectives, wish to connect with the LPEA and take an active role in the life of the association. Potential affiliate members include Independent Directors, freelance professionals, start-up founders, business angels, etc. Affiliate members have access to a limited number of events per year.

(1) Full Member (Foreign): Applies to full members with no representation office in Luxembourg.

(2) As of January 1st 2026, a 3 year membership increase will take effect and new categories inside the memberships will be created. This membership increase as well as the new categories have been approved by the AGM on June 11th 2025.

(3) The number of employees can be confirmed with the “Certificat renseignant sur le nombre de salariés occupés” issued by the CCSS)
