Working area: Risk Management

Location: Luxembourg

Working hours: Full time

Key Qualifications:
As a Senior Officer, you will assist the team in ensuring effective risk management and adequate oversight of the impact investments under the responsibilities of the Luxembourg branch AIFM. You will assist (and in some cases be responsible for) the performance of risk-related tasks as detailed below. In your role as Senior Officer, you will support the Conducting Officer for Risk in building out the Luxembourg Risk team, as well as training and coaching junior team members.


• Ex ante limit checks on new investment proposals to ensure limit compliance
• Align risk profile, risk limits and risk levels across risk types
• Produce risk reports for Senior Management, auditors and regulators
• Risk-based review of risk assessments on new transactions provided by the Advisor for debt funds
• Review action items on portfolio companies identified by the Advisor for debt funds
• Implement and review relevant risk policies and procedures
• Set risk appetite for new funds and determine their risk limits
• Maintain the Operational Risk Event Database
• Train junior team members on tasks assigned to them
• Interface with local Valuation, Portfolio Management and Compliance functions as well as staff in the wider FiM Group
• Advise the Business Solutions team on risk aspects for new businesses
• Organize Fund-level Risk Committees
• Advise the AIFM Board on all risk-related matters, in particular on review of business plans, liquidity risk management, monitoring & optimization of portfolio risks


What we expect:
• University degree in a relevant field (preferably in economics, finance, law, STEM or business administration)
• Relevant professional experience, preferably in the Luxembourg Fund Industry and in asset management, fund administration, audit of funds or within a law firm
• Experience in and passion for process automation (ideally including some coding skills in SQL and Python/R)
• Demonstrable commitment to Finance in Motion’s mission to do good for people and planet
• Dynamic, authentic, credible team player with entrepreneurial mindset and the ability to cooperate with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders in a multicultural context
• Ability to work autonomously in a structured manner
• Excellent communication and presentation skills in English (German is a plus)
• Experience with investments in impact funds and/or emerging markets is considered a strong advantage
